About
A small local painting company that treats every building like its own.
CT Painting & Design is based in Danbury, Connecticut. We paint homes and businesses, inside and out, and we are a small business that stands behind its work.
More than a customer
You are a neighbor to us, and we treat neighbors with respect. Your property, your family, your neighbors, your animals and your belongings all come into the plan before we start.
No rush jobs, no cookie-cutter work
We listen to your ideas and use our experience to give you something that fits. We offer options, feedback and honest opinions, and we will not recommend a service you do not need.
The right tools and a clean finish
We bring good tools and materials, and we leave the space clean and tidy. Prep, priming and finishing are done in the right order, because the order is what makes the paint last.
Fair estimates
After a walk-through, we price the job from the hours it will take plus materials. You can compare it against any other estimate.

Questions
What people ask before they hire us.
How is an estimate put together?
After you tell us what you need and we see the property, we estimate the hours the work will take, apply labor rates, then add materials. The total is your estimate.
How do I get an estimate?
Call us or send the estimate form. A consultant asks a few preliminary questions, and you can then book a walk-through, which is the most thorough way to scope a job and ask detailed questions.
Do you use latex or oil-based paint?
We mainly use latex, which works on almost any surface and comes in many finishes. We sometimes use oil-based paint where durability matters, such as doors and trim, but we use it sparingly.
Can latex be painted over oil?
Yes, with proper prep. A properly cleaned and sanded surface takes good-quality latex well. Oil paint cannot be applied over latex.
Do you offer low-VOC or environmentally friendly options?
Yes. Many paints are now non-toxic and low in VOCs, and we try to recycle leftover cans. Ask your consultant about options.
Are you insured and licensed?
Yes. CT Painting & Design is fully insured and licensed.
How should I prepare for your visit?
Clear and clean the project area if you can, and remove ornaments, wall hangings and other obstructions. Most people choose to be elsewhere while work is in progress, since it can get messy.
